How Can You Help?

The Friends of the Foothills coalition is organized at the grassroots level. Without the ongoing support of our volunteers and activists, we could not survive. Our volunteers work closely with campaign staff on many parts of our campaign to protect our open space, clean water, threatened wildlife and livable communities.

Hours and time commitment are flexible--whether you can give two hours a month or ten, there are ways to help. Also, if you provide your name and email address in our right column "Join Friends of The Foothills Today!" you will receive invitations to events and updates about the campaign.

Do the Following!

Tabling

Tabling is a fun and easy way to get involved with the campaign. We staff information tables several times a month at the San Clemente Farmer's Market and at the Trestles Beach parking lot. We also host booths at local festivals. Donate just a couple hours a month and work with other volunteers to get the word out.

Take a look at our Event Calendar page for upcoming dates for various activities which we will need volunteers.

Letter Writing

Please take a moment and send a letter to the Secretary of Commerce. The TCA is currently appealing the California Coastal Commission's NO vote against the Foothill-South Toll Road. Please let the federal government know that our state park is too valuable to lose for a pay-to-drive road.

Letters To The Editor

Writing letters to the editor is an excellent way to raise the profile of an issue and to get the attention of the community and the decision makers. Sign up for our excellent Action Alert/Letters to the Editor e-mail list-serve to receive occasional updates about current events, upcoming meetings and hikes, and tips for writing letters to the editor. You can do this by filling in our "Join Friends of The Foothills Today!" form located on each page of this web site on the right column.

Be sure to include your name, home address and daytime phone for verification. 150 words or less is best.
